Oaxaca Coffee - Mezcal, Espresso, and Cherry Syrup

This Oaxaca Coffee recipe produces a delicious hot cocktail with the distinguished bite of espresso coffee, complemented by the smokey deep richness of Mezcal, all the while perfectly contrasted with the sweet tones of Maraschino cherry and vanilla. Hot or cold weather this is a smooth drink that leaves you with new excuse for your evening (or morning) mezcal cravings.


  • 1 Table Spoon Maraschino Cherry Syrup
  • 1 Table Spoon Vanilla
  • 1 Double Espresso
  • 1.5 oz Mezcal (Mescal) - one shot
  • 1.5 oz Cream


  1. Add Vanilla to your cream and whip until it reaches the soft peak stage.
  2. Prepare you Espresso to your tastes(you can substitute quality regular coffee)
  3. Slowly heat the Mezcal while adding the cherry syrup.
  4. Add the previously beaten cream, delicately, so that a layer remains on the top of the drink. (if you have a milk frother you can substitute10 that for the cream, however it will not be a rich)
  5. Decorate with a chile and natural vanilla powder.
